Apple has recently made the ambitious pledge to "close the loop" on their supply chain, by using 100% recycled or renewable materials for their iPhones, Macbooks, and other products.

The tech giant released this goal in their recent Environmental Responsibility Report, which you can read in full here.

"It's an ambitious goal that will require many years of collaboration across multiple Apple teams, our suppliers and specialty recyclers — but our work is already under way,"

However Apple's vice president of environment, policy and social initiatives, Lisa Jackson, did admit to VICE they the company did not yet have full detailed plans to achieve this goal.

"We're actually doing something we rarely do, which is announcing a goal before we've completely figured out how to do it"

We at eWater Systems applaud Apple on this goal, and wish them all the best in reaching it.

If visionary companies like Apple can lead the way, we are also sure that many more will follow.
